Günter Fruhtrunk "The Paris years 1954-1967"
At the Lenbachhaus - Münich
We are very pleased to support Günter Fruhtrunk’s exhibition ‘The Parisian Years’ at the Lenbachhaus Museum in Munich
This exhibition zooms in on this prolific period in Fruhtrunk’s life and oeuvre and sets it in the context of the Franco-German art relations in the 1950s and 1960s. Around forty works with which he presented himself to the public at the time convey a vivid sense of the contemporary beholders’ experience.
Günter Fruhtrunk and Eva-Maria Fruhtrunk were among the friends of Anne and Jean-Claude Lahumière. The Parisian years were those when occupying a maid’s room on Avenue Iéna, the promiscuity of these homes created links between the Lahumières and the Fruhtrunks. Later, as Lahumière editions developed, Anne and Jean-Claude Lahumière offered to collaborate on the edition of a portfolio of 6 screenprints which was published in 1971.
