Alberto Magnelli
À propos de l'artiste
The easily legible formal components of Magnelli’s painting with its sharp surfaces and clean patches are generated by straight lines drawn with a ruler or by full curves traced with the “compass of [his] fingers.”
The core of Magnelli’s oeuvre hosts two opposing tendencies : the use of pure, violent colors which sometimes clash in the canvases of the early period, versus the later choice of soft monochromes and refined earth colors in a harmonic range that complements and enriches the basic tonality.
