Jean-Michel Gasquet

About the artist

JMG cultivates paradox. He works in series, and on the contrary he does not let himself delude from the result when his research reaches its goal. Relentlessly the line becomes stripe, from the shape emerges the colour and inversely.
He knows that if by chance, form or color becomes paradoxical, their affirmation might eventually become ingenious, that is why he moves from one to the other, in knowing that the solution does not exist in the paradox.

Born in 1929 in Nîmes died in 2023 in Bourgogne
