Gottfried Honegger

À propos de l'artiste

“Retrospectively, I realize that the square, circle, and triangle have had a determining influence on my work down through the years,” admits Gottfried Honegger. “These three elementary forms are also a source of incredible diversity in nature. They are universally recognizable, and they generate endless compositions.” Honegger claims to be above all a sculptor, and his need to produce volumes and reliefs is perhaps due to the fact that he fathoms space the way he enjoys fathoming ideas. In common with many other artists, Honegger feels that art can make the world a better place. His artistic explorations and their in-situ applications are external signs of an implacable desire to embrace everyday life. He allows us—and teaches us—to see, reflecting the motto behind the Espace pour Art Concret, founded in 1991 by Honegger and his partner, Sybil Albers-Barrier.
