Jean Gorin

About the artist

Shapes and colors echo one another in a multitude of relationships, suggesting both a layering of planes and a visual itinerary.
The multifarious interpenetration of surfaces remains clear, whichever point of view is adopted: vertical planes (or colored lines, depending on viewpoint), orchestrate space in rhythmic counterpoint to white surfaces.

Alongside his architectonic concerns, Jean Gorin produces many reliefs whose refined sobriety and compositional tension constitute some of the summits of his art.
