Charles Bézie "Fibonacci suite" and "Fiborhythm"

Past exhibitionFrom 15 January to 26 February 2011

Charles Bézie works in a series and since 1995 he uses numbers. The Fibonacci Suite (Italian mathematician from the XIIIth Century) was the last theme. Elaborated in his latest plastic researches, he creates works, constructed on the division of spaces, limited through lines on a vertical or horizontal surface. The natural evolution of his research will bring him to create new series, which are the progression of the previous ones : the Fiborythms.
These works, still in the « geometric abstract » tendency, are a development from the Fibonacci Suite. The rhythm displays the empty spaces and the lines become larger stripes until the square appears. The rhythm jerks the squares and stretches them until they move into a continuous form.
The work fills itself with a curve movement. Charles Bézie finds a new breath in the composition, mixing rhythm to the extension of lines.
Throughout the 20th Century the “geometric abstract” art is still alive, and this tendency has still developments to come, Charles Bézie is among these artists.
